I was out in the garden with my camera this week, so here is the proof...
the LUPINES are blooming - a joy to have - if only the weeds would stay away from them!
I found this 'hanging plant' at a nursery near Schmicksburg a couple of weeks ago - it's blooming nicely, too!
and even the little mini roses are starting to bloom! This bush stands about 10" high - roses are about an inch across. That's a raindrop in the middle....
and here's a little table topper I'm sewing up
Started cutting out something new yesterday and lost track of time - nothing unusual for me!
Have a great day - inside or out.

my latest adventure...
Yes, this is a sink - at the Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA - this is the sink in the ladies room....
I've never seen another one like it anywhere else.
I was there on Tuesday with my dd - for the Art Quilts on display - which were wonderful, but when I posted about the gallery, I forgot this pic, so it's a bit of an afterthought, but I wanted to share it anyway.
and this is a peek at one of the art quilts that impressed me - done with 'discharge' from a photograph. Most of them were much more colorful!
as soon as I arrived home and changed into clean clothes - we were out the door to our gd's school concert - she is second from the right - girls this age don't hold still... sorry!
I did manage to get a shot of the 6th graders during their performance of the "Lion King" medley - they all had their faces painted to match their characters - so darn cute! They all did a great job - very talented kids we have here!
Hope you are all enjoying a song in your heart!

Art Quilt Elements at Wayne, PA
I went to the Wayne Art Center today to see the art quilts - fantastic eye candy, as a matter of fact - this show is a dependable treat. Go check it out - scroll down the page on this link to get a little video tour:

Sorry I can't post any pics of the show here - you know how these copyright issues are!
Haven't done much in the studio lately, but I did put this little dolly together with scraps last week:
and before that, I made up these postcards
and these little book pages...
with ink pads for the fabrics as well as the stamps!
Thanks for the visit! Drop me a note and let me know you were here.

The CanCan Girls finale
Here it is at last - the grand finale of the CanCan Girls - the quilting is done, the binding is finished, and it is ready to hang with all it's petticoats a fluttering. Hope you like it.
I did a little research into the wiry dark character pictured here.... and HE was also a dancer at the Moulin Rouge - a contortionist who also performed for the amusement of the crowds.
and here is the full wall hanging:
So, I'll be moving on to my next project once I finish the sleeve and label.
I really enjoyed this quilting experience - although I probably would not have made this quilt at all without the quilt challenge issued by Pat Sloan - Black and White and Yellow in Paris.
This may start a trend for me, combining images from old posters and turning them into quilts - of all the quilts I've made, the ones I've enjoyed the most were small wall hangings that I designed myself. Although I am also 'inspired' by short deadlines!
